Laundry rooms and basements

Appliance Removal

Old washers, dryers, fridges and the rest carried out and hauled away.

The washer nobody can reach

The typical call is an old washer and dryer in a laundry room that has turned into the place where clothes, boxes and everything else end up. Or a refrigerator that died in the basement months ago, or a machine the last owner left behind. It is too heavy for one person, awkward on stairs, and so it sits.

Appliances are often the one thing holding a clear-out in place. A dead fridge in the garage keeps the car outside, a buried washer keeps the laundry room from being used, and nothing around them can be cleaned until they go.

Look first, then carry

Text or call Steve at 860-227-3403 with what the appliance is and where it sits: basement, up a flight, behind a door. The quote comes after he has seen the job. One question matters before the day: is it still hooked up? Ask Steve if it is, and he will tell you how to handle it.

The crew clears the route out first, laundry baskets, shelves, whatever is stacked around the machine, so it leaves in a straight line instead of being tipped around corners. Heavy pieces are carried out by hand and loaded on the truck, and the floor underneath is left bare for you to see.

The corner of the house back

A cleared laundry room, an empty garage corner or a basement wall with nothing against it is room for the replacement to be delivered, or for the space to be used for something else. If the machine is one item among many, the rest of the room can go in the same visit.

  • Other worn-out household appliances that are sitting in the way.
  • Water heaters and anything else tied into the house: ask Steve if it is still hooked up.
